Job Details

  • Job Type: Part-time

  • Hourly Pay: From $65.00 per hour

  • Expected Hours: This is a part-time position, typically offering between 2 to 5 hours of work per week. However, hours are not guaranteed and may vary.

  • Schedule: Choose your own hours but typically after-school hours and/or weekends

  • Work Setting: In-person. The role involves traveling to the West Los Angeles area, often during peak traffic times, between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personalized Remedial Instruction

    • Develop and deliver individualized instruction to address specific learning challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, and language, visual, and auditory processing issues. Utilize evidence-based teaching methods and strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.

  • Assessment & Intervention Planning

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify academic needs and learning challenges. Design tailored intervention plans that align with the individual’s strengths and areas of improvement.

  • Collaboration & Communication

    • Work in tandem with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the individual’s education. Regularly update stakeholders on progress, challenges, and any adjustments needed in the intervention plan.

  • Advocacy & Mentorship

    • Act as a strong advocate for students, ensuring they receive the necessary support and accommodations in various educational settings. Mentor and guide students, instilling confidence and fostering a love for learning.

  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain detailed records of assessments, intervention plans, and progress reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and adheres to confidentiality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have classroom teaching experience (lead teacher/student teacher).

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.

  • Strongly Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or Educational Therapy.
